And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sounds of people celebrating joyfully. I will increase their numbers so they won't be few, and I will honor them so they won't be insignificant.
God is promising that His people will be restored to joy, growth, and honor after their time of suffering.
📚 Historical Context
Jeremiah was a prophet in ancient Judah during the 7th-6th century BC, a time when the nation faced invasion and exile by the Babylonians as judgment for their idolatry and disobedience. In Jeremiah 30, God delivers a message of hope and restoration to His people, promising that after their suffering, they would experience joy, growth, and honor as part of His covenant faithfulness. This verse specifically assures the remnant of Israel that God would multiply them and bring forth thanksgiving and celebration.
