Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how Verse Made Simple works.

How does verse simplification work?

We process the canonical King James Bible text through advanced neural language models, constrained by proprietary prompt templates. The system prioritizes modern vocabulary and natural sentence flow while strictly prohibiting the addition of external meaning or commentary. Each verse is processed independently with full context isolation to prevent cross-contamination between passages.

Is this a replacement for my Bible?

No. Verse Made Simple is a study companion, not a canonical replacement. It's designed to be used alongside authorized translations to assist with immediate comprehension. Every verse page prominently displays the original KJV text directly above the simplification — so the reader always stays anchored to the source material.

Isn't AI prone to errors?

Yes — all large language models operate probabilistically. While we use rigorous system prompts and semantic guardrails, minor deviations are possible. This is exactly why we display the original KJV text on every page: so readers can verify the simplification against the source. For passages of critical importance, we recommend cross-referencing with established scholarly commentaries.

Which Bible version do you use?

The King James Version (KJV), specifically the 1769 standardized text. We selected it for its undisputed historical authority, its profound literary influence on the English language, and its public domain status — which permits unrestricted computational analysis.

Will you add the NIV, ESV, or other translations?

Not at this time. Most modern translations (NIV, ESV, NASB, NLT) are protected by active copyright, which legally prohibits programmatic reproduction and redistribution. The KJV's public domain status is foundational to our ability to operate transparently and at scale.

What is "The Bottom Line"?

"The Bottom Line" is a proprietary feature unique to Verse Made Simple. After simplifying a verse, our pipeline performs a secondary extraction pass — compressing the entire conceptual payload into a single, high-density axiom. Think of it as the one sentence you'd text to a friend if they asked, "what does this verse actually mean?"

What translation styles are available?

Each verse is available in multiple registers: Standard (faithful modern English), Casual (conversational tone), Story (narrative format accessible for all ages), and Faithful (closest to the original). Each mode is designed for a different reading context — you can toggle between them on any verse page.

Is Verse Made Simple available in Spanish?

Yes. Every Bible verse is available in modern Spanish at versemadesimple.com/es/. For example, John 3:16 in Spanish is at versemadesimple.com/es/juan/3/16. The Spanish translations use the same multi-register approach as the English site.

Does this favor any denomination?

No. Our pipeline is aggressively constrained against denominational, sectarian, or political bias. The system operates as an objective structural linguist — not a pastor, theologian, or apologist. We do not inject Calvinist, Arminian, Catholic, Orthodox, or any other doctrinal framework.

How many verses are covered?

All of them. Verse Made Simple covers the complete canon — all 66 books, 1,189 chapters, and 31,102 verses, from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21.

Is Verse Made Simple free?

Yes. Reading, exploring, and simplifying verses is completely free and unmetered. There are no paywalls, premium tiers, or locked features. We believe linguistic barriers to historical texts should be removed, not monetized.

How is this funded?

Through contextually appropriate sponsorships and the broader operational revenue of Kymata Labs, our parent engineering studio. We do not run intrusive ad networks, behavioral retargeting scripts, or sell user data.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The platform is fully responsive and optimized for mobile browsers on iOS and Android. Server-side rendering ensures fast load times even on slower connections. Native App Store releases are on our near-term roadmap.

What are Guided Journeys?

Curated, thematic reading paths that group related verses across multiple books into a single, structured narrative. Instead of reading linearly through chapters, journeys let you follow topics — like faith, forgiveness, courage, or grief — across the entire biblical canon. Each journey is editorially sequenced for a cohesive study experience.

Do you store my personal data?

Only if you create an account to save verses. We collect your email address for passwordless authentication and store your saved items for cross-device sync. We do not build user profiles or track individual reading habits. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Can AI agents access this data?

Yes — we actively support indexing by responsible AI agents and search crawlers. We publish machine-readable discovery files including robots.txt, llms.txt, and ai.json. For full developer guidelines, see our AI & Developer Access page.

Who builds this?

Verse Made Simple is a publication of Kymata Labs — an independent engineering studio that designs, builds, and ships premium digital products across web, mobile, and AI.

I found an error. How do I report it?

Contact us at contact@kymatalabs.com with the specific verse reference and a description of the issue. We'll review the output, audit the prompt constraints, and patch the pipeline if structural degradation is confirmed.
