So Jeremiah went to find Gedaliah (who was Ahikam's son) in Mizpah, and he ended up staying there with him and the rest of the people who were still left in the country.

📚 Historical Context
In the historical context, Jeremiah was a prophet living during the Babylonian conquest of Judah around 586 BC, a time when Jerusalem had been destroyed and most of its people were taken into exile. The Babylonians appointed Gedaliah as governor over the remaining inhabitants in the land, establishing Mizpah as a key location for the survivors to regroup and rebuild. Jeremiah's decision to join Gedaliah there highlighted his role as a faithful voice amid the chaos of invasion and displacement.
