Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
This is what the LORD says: When someone finds new wine in a cluster of grapes, they say, 'Don't destroy it because there's something good in it.' In the same way, I will act for the sake of my servants, so that I won't destroy them all.
God is saying He will preserve His faithful people just like someone would save a cluster of grapes that contains good wine, because there is value worth protecting.
📚 Historical Context
This verse comes from Isaiah's prophecy about God's judgment and restoration of Israel. Written during a time when Israel faced potential destruction due to their unfaithfulness, Isaiah reassures that God will not completely destroy His people. The imagery of preserving grapes for wine-making was familiar to an agricultural society that understood the value of not wasting what contained potential blessing.
