For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
Because of an immoral woman, a man can be reduced to poverty, left with nothing but a piece of bread. And an unfaithful wife will hunt for a man's very life.
This verse is warning that getting involved with immoral women can destroy a man both financially and spiritually, leaving him with nothing.
