But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
But the guy couldn't keep quiet about it, he went everywhere telling people what happened, spreading the news so much that Jesus couldn't even walk into towns anymore without causing a scene. So Jesus had to stay out in the wilderness, but people still tracked him down from everywhere to find him.
Sometimes the best news is impossible to keep to yourself, even when you probably should.
📚 Historical Context
In the first century AD, Jesus was actively ministering in the region of Galilee, performing miracles such as healing a leper, as part of his early public work. He specifically instructed the healed man not to tell anyone about the miracle, in order to fulfill Jewish law and avoid drawing overwhelming crowds that could hinder his mission. However, the man's excitement led him to spread the news widely, resulting in Jesus being unable to enter cities openly and forcing him to remain in remote areas.
