And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Jesus told him, 'Don't tell anyone about this yet. Instead, go show yourself to the priest and make the offering that Moses required for your healing. This will be proof to them of what happened.'
Sometimes God asks us to follow the proper steps first before we share our story with everyone.
📚 Historical Context
In the time of Jesus, leprosy was a serious condition that rendered people ritually unclean under Jewish law, requiring them to isolate and follow specific purification rituals. After miraculously healing a man with leprosy, Jesus directed him to present himself to the priest and offer the sacrifices prescribed in the Law of Moses, as detailed in Leviticus 14. This instruction ensured compliance with religious customs and provided a public testimony to the priests about the healing.
