Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.
So all the government officials came to question Jeremiah, and he told them exactly what the king had instructed him to say. They stopped interrogating him because they had no idea what had actually gone down between him and the king.
