For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
For I am with you, says the LORD, to rescue you. Even though I will completely destroy all the nations where I have scattered you, I will not completely destroy you. But I will discipline you fairly, and I will not let you go completely without punishment.
God is promising that while He will discipline His people for their wrongs, He will never abandon them or destroy them completely like He will other nations.
📚 Historical Context
This verse comes from Jeremiah's prophecies during the final years before Jerusalem's destruction by Babylon in 586 BC. The Jewish people were about to be scattered into exile among foreign nations as punishment for breaking their covenant with God. However, God promises through Jeremiah that unlike other nations which would face complete destruction, Israel would survive and eventually be restored.
