And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
The LORD will strike Egypt with judgment, but then He will also heal them. The people will turn back to the LORD, and when they pray to Him, He will listen and heal them.
God is showing that even His judgment comes with the promise of healing and restoration for those who turn back to Him.
📚 Historical Context
This prophecy was given during a time when Egypt was a major world power that often conflicted with Israel. Isaiah prophesied both judgment and future blessing for Egypt, showing God's heart for all nations, not just Israel. This was part of a larger vision where God would eventually bring healing and worship from Egypt, Assyria, and Israel together.
