📚 Historical Context
In the Book of Esther, set in the Persian Empire during the reign of King Ahasuerus, Haman had plotted to destroy the Jewish people, but Esther, a Jewish woman who became queen, bravely revealed her identity and thwarted his scheme. This led to Haman's execution, and as a reward for Esther's loyalty, the king transferred Haman's estate to her. Consequently, Mordecai, Esther's cousin and guardian, was brought before the king, marking a turning point in the story where the Jews began to experience relief from persecution.
