When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
When you go out to fight against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and armies larger than yours, don't be afraid of them. The LORD your God is with you—the same God who brought you out of Egypt.
God is telling His people not to fear overwhelming enemies because He is with them and has already proven His power by rescuing them from Egypt.
📚 Historical Context
This verse comes from Moses' final instructions to the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land, where they would face well-equipped Canaanite armies with superior military technology. The Israelites were primarily foot soldiers, while their enemies had horse-drawn chariots, which were the ancient equivalent of tanks. Moses reminded them of God's faithfulness during their exodus from Egypt as proof that God would continue to fight for them.
