📚 Historical Context
During the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem around 587 BC, the prophet Jeremiah was instructed by God to buy a field from his cousin as a symbolic act of faith, representing hope for the future restoration of the land despite the impending exile. This purchase occurred amid political turmoil and invasion, emphasizing God's promise that the people would one day return and rebuild.
