✦ MADE SIMPLE

But the dove couldn't find anywhere to land, so she returned to Noah in the ark because water still covered the entire earth. Then Noah reached out his hand, took her, and brought her back inside the ark with him.

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

The dove returned to Noah because there was still nowhere safe to land, showing that God's judgment through the flood wasn't finished yet.

📚 Historical Context

This occurs during the great flood when Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters had receded enough for land to appear. Ancient peoples often used birds to scout for land during sea voyages. The dove's return indicated that the earth was still completely covered with floodwaters and it wasn't yet time to leave the ark.
