✦ SIMPLIFICADO

In every province and every city where the king's command and decree reached, the Jews celebrated with joy and gladness, feasting and making it a holiday. Many people from other nations converted to Judaism because they were afraid of the Jews' newfound power.

⚡ EN RESUMEN

This verse describes how the Jews celebrated everywhere when they heard the king's new decree, and how many non-Jews converted to Judaism out of fear of their rising influence.

📚 Historical Context

This verse comes after King Xerxes issued a new decree allowing the Jews to defend themselves against Haman's original order to destroy them. The Persian Empire's communication system allowed royal decrees to spread quickly across the vast territory, reaching Jewish communities throughout the known world. The conversion of non-Jews likely reflected both genuine respect for the Jewish faith and political wisdom, as the Jews now had royal protection and influence.
