✦ SIMPLIFICADO

In the biblical narrative of 1 Kings, this verse comes from King David's final instructions to his son Solomon as David nears death, urging him to address lingering threats to the kingdom. Joab, David's military commander, had treacherously killed Abner, a former rival general, and Amasa, another commander, during times of peace, which highlighted the dangers of unchecked power and betrayal in ancient Israel. This event reflects the cultural emphasis on justice and retribution in a society where loyalty and leadership were crucial for national stability.
