Take it of them, that they may be to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man according to his service.
Accept these gifts from them so they can be used for the work of the tent of meeting, and give them to the Levites - to each person based on what kind of work they do.
God is telling Moses to accept the wagons and oxen the tribal leaders offered and distribute them to the Levites based on their specific duties in caring for the tabernacle.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of Numbers, the Israelites were encamped in the wilderness after their exodus from Egypt, as they prepared for their journey to the Promised Land. The leaders of the twelve tribes brought offerings for the dedication of the altar in the tabernacle, a portable sanctuary where God dwelt among His people. God instructed Moses to take these offerings and distribute them to the Levites, who were specifically chosen and assigned for the maintenance and service of the tabernacle according to their designated roles.
