But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
When people start coming after you in one city, just move on to the next one. I'm telling you the truth, you won't even finish visiting all the cities in Israel before the Son of Man shows up.
Don't stay where you're not wanted, keep moving, because Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
📚 Historical Context
In the first-century setting of ancient Judea, Jesus was sending out his twelve disciples on a mission to preach the gospel to the lost sheep of Israel, warning them that they would encounter opposition from religious leaders who rejected his message. This instruction to flee persecution reflected the realities of a society where prophets and messengers of God often faced hostility, emphasizing the need for strategic wisdom in continuing their work. It also pointed to the ongoing mission that would persist until Jesus' return, as the "Son of man."
