✦ MADE SIMPLE

As for those of you who survive, I will fill their hearts with fear while they live in enemy territory. Even the sound of a leaf rustling in the wind will make them run away in terror. They will run as if someone is chasing them with a sword, and they will stumble and fall even when no one is pursuing them.

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

God is warning that those who disobey Him will live in constant fear and anxiety, becoming scared of even harmless things like the sound of leaves.

📚 Historical Context

This verse is part of God's covenant warnings to the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land. Moses was explaining the consequences of breaking God's laws - including exile and living as fearful refugees among hostile nations. This prophecy was later fulfilled when Israel was conquered and scattered by Assyria and Babylon.
