Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.
So King Zedekiah ordered his guards to put Jeremiah in the prison courtyard, but he made sure Jeremiah got a daily piece of bread from the bakers' street, at least until the city ran out of food completely. And that's where Jeremiah stayed, in that prison courtyard.
