Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
So look, the time is coming, says the LORD, when people will no longer say, 'As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the people of Israel up out of Egypt,'
God is saying that a time is coming when people will remember Him for a new and even greater rescue than bringing Israel out of Egypt.
📚 Historical Context
This prophecy was given during the final decades before Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and took the Jewish people into exile (around 586 BC). At this time, the Exodus from Egypt was the defining moment of Jewish identity and the ultimate example of God's salvation. Jeremiah is prophesying that an even greater deliverance is coming that will overshadow this foundational memory.
