Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
Then he told me, 'Speak to the wind, speak up! Tell the wind that the Lord God says: Come from every direction, breath of life, and fill these dead bodies so they can live again.'
God can breathe life back into the most hopeless situations.
📚 Historical Context
Ezekiel was a prophet speaking to the exiled Jews in Babylon during the 6th century BC, a time when they felt utterly defeated and disconnected from their homeland after the destruction of Jerusalem. In this vision of the valley of dry bones, God uses the image of scattered skeletons to symbolize Israel's spiritual and national desolation. God instructs Ezekiel to prophesy to the wind, representing the life-giving Spirit, as a promise of restoration and revival for His people.
