I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
I kept watching because of all the arrogant things that horn was saying. I watched until the beast was killed, its body completely destroyed, and thrown into the fire.
Even the most powerful evil eventually gets destroyed, God always has the final word.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of Daniel, written during the Babylonian exile around the 6th century BC, the prophet Daniel experiences a vision of four beasts symbolizing successive world empires that oppress God's people. The "horn" in this verse represents a boastful ruler who utters blasphemies against God, often interpreted as figures like Antiochus IV Epiphanes in history or a future antichrist in prophecy. Daniel witnesses the beast's destruction by fire, emphasizing God's sovereign judgment on arrogant powers.
