📚 Historical Context
In the Babylonian empire during the exile of the Jews, King Nebuchadnezzar had a disturbing dream and demanded that his wise men not only interpret it but also reveal its content, under penalty of death. When the wise men confessed they could not comply, the king issued an order for their execution, which put Daniel and his friends at risk. Daniel, a young Jewish captive known for his God-given wisdom, responded strategically to Arioch, the captain of the guard, to buy time and seek divine insight.
