📚 Historical Context
During the reign of King Hezekiah in the 8th century BC, the powerful Assyrian empire under King Sennacherib invaded Judah and besieged Jerusalem, threatening total destruction. Through the prophet Isaiah, God delivered a message assuring the survival of a remnant from Jerusalem and Mount Zion, emphasizing that this deliverance would come solely from His zealous protection. This event illustrates the broader biblical theme of God's faithfulness to His covenant people amid overwhelming threats from enemy nations.
