✦ MADE SIMPLE

Look, I will let you die and be buried with your ancestors in peace. You won't have to see all the terrible things I'm going to bring on this place and the people who live here. So they brought this message back to the king.

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

God is telling King Josiah through a prophetess that he will die peacefully before the coming judgment, sparing him from seeing the destruction of his nation.

📚 Historical Context

This is God's response through the prophetess Huldah to King Josiah's inquiry about the Book of the Law that was found in the temple. Josiah had been faithfully reforming Judah and removing idolatry, but God had already determined that judgment would come upon the nation because of the sins of previous kings like Manasseh. However, because of Josiah's humble heart and reforms, God promised he would not witness the coming destruction.
