But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
There's going to be this one totally unique day that only God knows about, it won't follow normal day and night rules. When evening should come, it'll still be bright as daylight.
God has a day planned that breaks all the rules, even when it should get dark, the light stays on.
📚 Historical Context
Zechariah was a prophet who ministered to the Jewish people after their return from exile in Babylon around 520-518 BC, encouraging them to rebuild the temple and trust in God's promises. In Zechariah 14, the prophet describes a prophetic vision of the end times, including God's final judgment on nations and the restoration of Jerusalem as a holy city. This verse specifically portrays a miraculous day known only to the Lord, where the usual patterns of day and night are suspended, symbolizing divine intervention and the dawn of God's eternal kingdom.
