In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
When that day comes, even the bells on horses will have 'Holy to the Lord' written on them, and the regular cooking pots in God's house will be just as sacred as the special bowls used at the altar.
God's making everything sacred, from horse bells to kitchen pots, nothing will be too ordinary for his holiness.
📚 Historical Context
Zechariah was a prophet who spoke to the Jewish people after their return from exile in Babylon, around 520 BC, encouraging them to rebuild the temple and trust in God's promises. In this verse from chapter 14, he envisions a future day of the Lord's ultimate victory, where even ordinary items like horse bells and household pots will be dedicated to God, symbolizing the complete holiness of everyday life in a restored Jerusalem. This reflects the broader biblical theme of God's kingdom bringing total sanctification to all aspects of creation.
