📚 Historical Context
In the first century, the Apostle Paul was writing to the church in Rome to explain God's ongoing plan for both Jewish and Gentile believers, amid growing tensions as many Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah. Paul, a Jewish man himself, expressed his deep sorrow over Israel's unbelief and used his ministry to the Gentiles as a way to highlight God's grace. He hoped that by demonstrating the blessings given to non-Jews, he could stir jealousy among his fellow Jews and lead some to salvation.
