And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
And the LORD said to Moses, 'Don't be afraid of him, because I have given him into your power, him, all his people, and his land. You will do to him the same thing you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.'
God is reassuring Moses not to fear the next enemy king because He has already decided to give Israel victory, just like He did before.
📚 Historical Context
In the Book of Numbers, the Israelites were journeying through the wilderness after their exodus from Egypt, preparing to enter the Promised Land. They had just defeated Sihon, the king of the Amorites, and were now facing Og, the king of Bashan, as they continued their conquest. God spoke to Moses to encourage him, assuring victory over Og by referencing the recent defeat of Sihon as a demonstration of His ongoing protection and power.
