Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.
Every bed she lies on during the time of her discharge will be unclean, just like during her monthly period. And anything she sits on will also be unclean, the same way it would be during her regular monthly separation.
This verse is explaining that during an abnormal discharge, a woman's bed and furniture become ceremonially unclean in the same way they do during her regular monthly cycle.
📚 Historical Context
In ancient Israelite society, as described in the Book of Leviticus, God provided detailed laws through Moses to address bodily discharges and maintain ritual purity, which was essential for worship and community health. These regulations, including those for a woman's menstrual period, symbolized the need for separation from impurity to uphold holiness among the people. They were part of the broader Mosaic Law that distinguished Israel from surrounding pagan cultures and taught lessons about sin and atonement.
