For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
For I am with you, says the LORD, to rescue you. Even though I will completely destroy all the nations where I have scattered you, I will not completely destroy you. But I will discipline you fairly, and I will not let you go completely without punishment.
God is promising that while He will discipline His people for their wrongs, He will never abandon them or destroy them completely like He will other nations.
📚 Historical Context
Jeremiah prophesied during the time of Judah's impending exile to Babylon, as God was judging the nation for its idolatry and covenant unfaithfulness. In this verse, God assures the people of Israel that while He will scatter them among other nations as part of His discipline, He will not completely destroy them. This promise reflects God's enduring commitment to His chosen people amidst widespread judgment on surrounding nations.
