O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.
You who are like a mountain standing in the countryside, I will give away all your wealth and treasures to those who plunder you, and your places of false worship will be destroyed because of sin throughout your entire land.
God is warning that He will allow enemies to take away all of Judah's wealth and destroy their places of idol worship as punishment for their sins.
📚 Historical Context
This prophecy was given during the final years of the kingdom of Judah, before the Babylonian exile (around 600-586 BC). The people had turned to idol worship at 'high places' - elevated sites where they worshipped false gods instead of the true God at the temple in Jerusalem. Jeremiah was warning that their unfaithfulness would lead to invasion and loss of everything they valued.
