And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
And he said, 'Look up and see—all the male goats mating with the flocks are striped, spotted, and speckled. I have seen everything that Laban has been doing to you.'
God is telling Jacob that He has been watching how Laban has been treating him unfairly and is now blessing Jacob's flocks.
📚 Historical Context
This occurs during Jacob's dream while working for his father-in-law Laban in Mesopotamia. Laban had repeatedly changed Jacob's wages and tried to cheat him out of fair payment for tending his flocks. God was showing Jacob that despite Laban's schemes, He was ensuring that Jacob's portion of the flocks would prosper through divine intervention.
