📚 Historical Context
In the book of Genesis, Isaac, the son of Abraham, had settled in the land of Gerar during a famine, as God instructed him to stay there and not go to Egypt. His growing wealth and success, blessed by God, led to jealousy from the local Philistines, who began to dispute over wells and resources that Isaac had dug. Eventually, King Abimelech, recognizing Isaac's superior strength and prosperity, asked him to leave to avoid conflict.
