As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.
God gave them something absolutely gorgeous and set it up to be honored and respected. But instead, they turned it into a place for making disgusting idols and all kinds of stuff that totally goes against everything God stands for. So God said 'I'm done' and took it all away from them.
When you take something beautiful God gave you and use it for the wrong things, don't be surprised when it gets taken away.
📚 Historical Context
In the time of the prophet Ezekiel, the people of Judah were facing exile in Babylon as a consequence of their idolatry and rebellion against God, which had corrupted their worship. The "beauty of his ornament" refers to the sacred and magnificent Temple in Jerusalem that God intended to symbolize His majesty and presence among His people. However, the Israelites defiled this holy place by filling it with idols and detestable images, leading God to withdraw His favor and presence from them as judgment.
