Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
They'll still get to serve in my holy place, working the gates, taking care of the temple, handling the sacrifices and offerings for everyone. They'll be there to serve the people and help them connect with me.
Even when you mess up, God still finds ways to use you in his house.
📚 Historical Context
Ezekiel was prophesying during the Babylonian exile in the 6th century BC, a time when the Israelites were in captivity and longing for restoration. In this vision, God provides detailed instructions for the future temple, emphasizing the proper roles and restrictions for the Levites who had previously led the people astray. The verse specifically assigns these unfaithful Levites to supportive duties in the sanctuary, such as guarding gates and assisting with sacrifices, to maintain order and holiness.
