And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
I'm coming for these so-called prophets who are spreading empty promises and straight-up lies. They won't be part of my people anymore, not in our gatherings, not in our records, and they definitely won't make it to the promised land. When this all goes down, you'll know for sure that I am the Lord your God.
Fake spiritual leaders who lie to people will face serious consequences, God doesn't play when it comes to protecting his people from deception.
📚 Historical Context
During the Babylonian exile in the 6th century BC, the prophet Ezekiel was speaking to the exiled Israelites who were facing God's judgment for their unfaithfulness, including the rise of false prophets who spread deceptive visions and lies to give false hope. These prophets were misleading the people by promising peace and security amid impending divine punishment, which contradicted God's true warnings. As a result, God declares in this verse that such false prophets would be cut off from the community and excluded from Israel's future restoration.
