And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.
Moses said, 'Look, I'm leaving you now, and I will pray to the LORD that the swarms of flies will leave Pharaoh, his officials, and his people tomorrow. But don't let Pharaoh be dishonest again by refusing to let the people go to worship the LORD.'
Moses is warning Pharaoh not to break his promise again after God removes the plague of flies.
📚 Historical Context
This occurs during the fourth plague God sent upon Egypt when Moses was demanding Pharaoh release the Israelites from slavery. Pharaoh had a pattern of promising to let the people go when plagues struck, then changing his mind once the plague was removed. Moses is addressing this cycle of deception directly.
