This verse comes from when God told Jeremiah to write down all his prophecies on a scroll so they could be read to the people of Judah. The nation was facing destruction by Babylon because of their disobedience to God. Jeremiah hoped that hearing God's warnings written down might finally convince the people to repent and avoid the coming judgment.
