✦ SIMPLIFICADO

This separation occurred after Jacob and Esau had reconciled following their earlier conflict over the birthright and blessing. Both brothers had become prosperous with large families and herds, making it practical for them to live in separate territories. This move fulfilled God's earlier prophecy that the older would serve the younger, as Esau (Edom) was effectively yielding the promised land to Jacob (Israel).
