There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.
Ezekiel was a prophet during the Babylonian exile in the 6th century BC, delivering messages of judgment against nations that opposed Israel. Edom, a kingdom descended from Esau and located south of Judah, had a history of conflict with the Israelites, often raiding them during times of weakness. In this verse, God uses Ezekiel to pronounce that Edom's kings and princes will face defeat and join the uncircumcised in the pit, symbolizing their shared fate with the ungodly in death.
