This is King Hezekiah's prayer during the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem around 701 BC, when the powerful Assyrian army under Sennacherib had surrounded the city and was threatening to destroy it. Hezekiah had just received a mocking letter from the Assyrian king claiming that no god could save Jerusalem, just as no gods had saved other nations from Assyria's conquest.
