Rizpah was a concubine of King Saul who had watched over the bodies of seven men (including two of her own sons) who were executed to end a famine caused by Saul's breaking of a treaty with the Gibeonites. She had courageously guarded their bodies from scavenging birds and wild animals for months, from the beginning of harvest until rain came.
