And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
You will die on the mountain you are going up to, and be reunited with your ancestors who have died before you. This will happen just like your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was reunited with his people.
God is telling Moses that he will die on the mountain and join his ancestors in death, just as his brother Aaron did before him.
📚 Historical Context
This is part of God's final words to Moses before he climbs Mount Nebo to view the Promised Land. Moses was not allowed to enter the land because of his disobedience at the waters of Meribah. Aaron, Moses' brother and Israel's first high priest, had already died on Mount Hor as the Israelites journeyed toward Canaan.
