At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
Pay your worker their wages on the same day they work, before sunset. Don't delay payment, because they are poor and counting on that money. If you don't pay them, they might cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
God is commanding employers to pay their workers promptly on the same day because poor workers depend on their daily wages to survive.
