The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.
The priests who are Levites, and everyone from the tribe of Levi, won't receive any land as their inheritance like the other tribes of Israel. Instead, they will live off the food offerings that are burned for the LORD, because that is their inheritance from Him.
God is explaining that the Levite priests won't get land like other tribes, but will be supported by the offerings people bring to God.
📚 Historical Context
In ancient Israel, the tribe of Levi was specially chosen by God to serve as priests and handle the sacred duties of worship, setting them apart from the other tribes who received land as their inheritance. This meant the Levites were not allocated territory in the Promised Land, as God Himself was designated as their portion and provider. Instead, they sustained themselves through the offerings and sacrifices that the people brought to the Lord, ensuring they could focus entirely on spiritual leadership.
