Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
Also, your little children, the ones you said would be captured by enemies, and your young ones who don't yet know right from wrong, they will enter the land. I will give it to them, and they will take possession of it.
God is telling the Israelites that their children, whom they feared would become victims, will actually be the ones to inherit the Promised Land.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses is recounting the Israelites' journey from Egypt and their rebellion against God when they refused to enter the Promised Land, fearing the powerful inhabitants as reported by the spies. This led to God's judgment that the adult generation would wander in the desert and not inherit the land, but He graciously promised that their young children, who were innocent and unaware of good and evil, would take possession of it instead. This event underscores God's faithfulness to His covenant despite human failure.
