Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
Daniel looked right at the king and said, 'That secret you're asking about? None of your wise guys, fortune tellers, magicians, or psychics can figure it out for you.'

📚 Historical Context
In the historical setting of the Babylonian exile around the 6th century BC, King Nebuchadnezzar demanded that his wise men reveal and interpret a troubling dream he had, threatening death if they failed. The king's advisors, such as astrologers and magicians, admitted their inability to access such divine secrets, highlighting the limits of human wisdom in a polytheistic culture that relied on these figures. Daniel, a Jewish captive serving in the royal court, prepared to address the king after God revealed the dream to him through prayer.
