Day 1
Power of the Tongue
Proverbs 18:21
Clear, easy-to-understand.
Your words hold the power of life and death.
Are your words building people up or tearing them down?
Every word you speak is either medicine or poison.
Words can heal or destroy — choose carefully.
Your words hold the power of life and death.
Are your words building people up or tearing them down?
Every word you speak is either medicine or poison.
Lord, put a guard over my mouth. Stand watch at the door of my lips.
What words do you need God to guard you from saying?
Sometimes the most powerful thing is what you DON'T say.
Don't let any unwholesome talk come from your mouth — only what builds others up and benefits those who listen.
Does your speech consistently build or tear down?
Before you speak, ask: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
No human can tame the tongue — it's a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
If no human can tame the tongue, who can?
You can't tame your tongue alone — you need the Spirit's help.
Always speak with grace, seasoned with salt, so you'll know how to respond to everyone properly.
How can you season your words with more grace?
Salty speech isn't harsh — it's flavorful and preserving.
